A class of probability distributions of phase type (PH-distributions) is employed to model the distributions of service time. Due to the density of PH-distributions in the class of all probability distributions, each station is modelled as a PH\/PH\/1 queueing system. By means of Matrix-Geometric solutions, the closed form expression for the delay which includes the queueing delay and the access delay can be calculated conveniently.
