The module transforms antenna domain<br \/>\nsignals to the beam domain, such that the spatial dimensionality<br \/>\nis significantly reduced for RUs with large antenna arrays. A<br \/>\nlow-complexity transformation scheme is investigated with finite<br \/>\nuplink receive samples. It leverages a combined discrete-Fouriertransform<br \/>\n(C-DFT) approach, which shows significant signal<br \/>\npower gain over the conventional DFT scheme by combining<br \/>\ncorrelated DFT beams to form a more matched beam pattern.<br \/>\nThe optimality of the combination method is proved.
