In this paper, we propose a utility-based resource control scheme for multimedia traffic in the downlink of DS-CDMA systems. The goal is to achieve the social optimal resource utilization. Fairness is guaranteed by allocating each user with a minimal transmission data rate. Simulation results show that the proposed resource control scheme is flexible and efficient for the downlink of multimedia DS-CDMA systems.
KEYWORDS
Resource control, DS-CDMA, utility, optimization.

Xiang Duan, Zhisheng Niu, and Junli Zheng, Utility Optimization and Fairness Guarantees for Multimedia Traffic in the Downlink of DS-CDMA Systems, Proc.
